Terms & Disclosure Guidelines
Last updated 11 August 2026
About these terms
These terms apply to everyone who takes part in the ZURU Toys Community. They explain how the programme works and what we ask of you. Please read them before you take part.
Who you are dealing with
The ZURU Toys Community is run by ZURU Inc of Unit 1201-04, 12th Floor, Energy Plaza, 92 Granville Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon, Hong Kong, China. Where these terms say ZURU, we, us or our, we mean ZURU Inc and its subsidiaries and affiliates.
Who can take part
- You must be 18 or over.
- You must not work for a retailer that stocks ZURU products, or for a competitor brand.
- ZURU employees may take part, but must disclose that they work for ZURU in every review (see the Disclosure section).
Please tell us if any of this changes. We may remove you if it does, or if any of these confirmations turns out to be incorrect.
You may hold only one membership. If we find you are running more than one account, we may close all of them and decline reimbursement.
How the programme works
From time to time we email about products available to trial. If you are interested, you can ask to take part. If you are selected, you try the product and share your honest feedback with the required disclosure. We usually ask you to buy the product locally and will then arrange to reimburse you.
Disclosure
Because we reimburse you for the product, it is free to you, and readers need to know that. How you show it depends on where you post.
If you post your review through the link or form we give you, the disclosure is added automatically and you do not need to do anything else.
If you post anywhere else, for example on your own social media, or on a retailer page you reached on your own rather than through our link, the automatic disclosure will not be there, so you must add this line yourself, at the start of your review:
“I received this product free in exchange for my honest opinion.”
If you are ever unsure whether it was added automatically, include the line. It never hurts to have it there.
Where to put it
- Put the disclosure in the review itself, not in your profile, a bio, or behind a “read more” link.
- Put it at or near the beginning, where a reader cannot miss it.
- Make it clear and easy to understand.
If you work for ZURU
If you are a ZURU employee, your review must make that clear as well, not only that you received the product free. For example: “I work for ZURU and received this product free in exchange for my honest opinion.”
Be honest
- Only review products you have actually used, and keep to your genuine experience and opinion.
- If your experience was poor, say so. We will not penalise you for a negative review, and taking part in future trials never depends on what you write.
- Do not present yourself as an independent shopper who found and chose the product on your own. You can say you are a genuine user of the brand.
- Everything you say must be true and must not mislead.
Your review must be created and submitted by you, in good faith, and reflect your own genuine experience as a real user of the product.
Keep your review about the product you tried. Please do not include content about other companies or their brands.
Claims about the product
Keep to your own experience. Do not make claims about what a product can do, or the results someone else can expect, beyond what you personally found, even if you did get that result.
Where you can post
Only post on the retailer sites we tell you about for that trial.
Some retailers do not accept reviews from people who received the product free or were reimbursed, even where the review is honest and disclosed.
If you are not sure whether a site is covered, ask us before you post.
Reimbursement
Where a trial reimburses you, we reimburse the price you paid plus delivery and applicable taxes, as shown on your receipt. We do not cover any other costs unless we say so for a particular trial.
To be reimbursed, send us your receipt and proof that your feedback is posted with the disclosure included. We pay by PayPal within a reasonable number of business days of confirming your proof. The product is yours to keep, whatever your feedback says. If the disclosure is missing, we cannot reimburse you until it has been added. When you send proof, we check only that the disclosure is present; we do not judge what your feedback says.
Please give us only accurate, current and complete information. We may ask you to confirm your eligibility at any time, and all reimbursement claims are subject to our review and verification before we pay them.
You are responsible for any tax that applies to what you receive through the programme.
We may check reviews
We, or trusted third parties acting for us, may check reviews before or after publication to confirm they are genuine and meet these terms and the disclosure requirement. This does not change our promise that we do not edit what your review says.
Your privacy
To run the programme we collect some personal information: the details you give when you join, your name and contact details, the proof you send of your posted feedback, and, where a trial reimburses you, the payment details we need to pay you. We use this to run the programme, to check your feedback includes the disclosure, and to pay any reimbursement. We use payment details only to pay you.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights, including how to complain to a regulator. Read it here:
Your content
You are responsible for everything you post, in the community and on retailer sites. Only post content that is your own.
All content you post, including photos and video, must be your own original work, created in good faith, and not an impersonation or someone else’s content. It must not already be used, or planned for use, in anyone else’s advertising.
Do not post a photo or video of anyone else unless you have that person’s consent to share it. If a child appears, you must have the consent of the child’s parent or legal guardian, and you confirm that you are that parent or guardian, or have their permission.
Do not include information in your review that could identify you or another person. You can use your first name or a nickname, but do not put other personal details in the review itself.
By posting as part of the programme, you allow us to use your feedback, photos and video in our own marketing and channels. If you would rather we did not, tell us at reviewsprogram@zuru.com and we will stop using it from that point.
So far as the law allows, you waive any moral rights in the content you post for the uses described above.
We will not use any image that includes a child in our own marketing without asking you first and getting your specific agreement.
You are responsible for your content. To the extent the law allows, you agree to release us from claims arising from it, including claims about what it contains.
What your content must not include
Your content must not be false, misleading, offensive, obscene, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful, must not infringe anyone else’s rights such as copyright or trade marks, and must not contain harmful code, viruses or similar.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the updated version and change the date and version number at the top. If you take part after that, you agree to the updated terms.
If you do not follow these terms
We may remove you from the community if you do not follow these terms. Depending on what has happened, we may contact you first and give you a chance to put it right. Repeatedly failing to include the disclosure is an example of something that may lead to removal.
We may also suspend or remove you, and decline or reverse a reimbursement, if we reasonably believe you have acted fraudulently, for example by sending a fake or altered receipt, or claiming for a product you did not buy.
The programme may change or end
We do not have to offer trials and cannot promise you a place on any particular one. We can pause or end the programme, or close the community, at any time.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits or takes away any rights you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you.
